Things Buster is scared of

Tomorrow is finally D-day: the day my exams start. Therefore today has been pretty boring - going over a few last-minute things and trying not to think too hard about my exams, so I decided that I'd do a list on the things that my dog is scared of. And it's actually quite a lot; he's such a wimp.

Pickles, our hamster
Whenever we get Pickles out of her cage he dodges round her as much as possible and won't come within two metres of you when you're holding her. He also looks at you like you're being a traitor to dogs. Oh, and he's also scared of our guinea pigs.

Cocktail sausages
When Buster was little I threw a cocktail sausage on the floor for him, and he literally jumped like he had been electrocuted, then ran away and hid behind the bin somewhere. So much for Labradors eating any type of food.

Ceramic pigs
My grandparents once looked after Buster for a couple of days when we were on holiday. They have three ceramic pigs in their garden that Grandad often moves around, and Buster was absolutely terrified of them. But he got his own back: on the last day he plucked up the courage to go over and wee on them. Serves them right.

His own farts
Yep, he is scared when he farts. I don't know whether it is the noise or the feeling, but he jumps out of his skin and whirls around looking for the source of the menace. Then usually leaves the room with a stink trail wafting after him.

Buster has been known to run away terrified from flies and bees, especially when they are crawling on the floor. He won't go within a two metre radius of them but at the same time seems overly curious about what they are.

Wish me luck for tomorrow (arghhh)!
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

  1. Your dog sounds a lot like one of my cats!! Haha hope your exams go well xx

    1. Pets are so funny! Thanks Charlotte xx

  2. Hahah, poor Buster! Animals are so funny, one would think they're better equipped for surviving.

My parakeet Kafka used to be scared of flying. He'd sit on a lamp and try to take off, but wouldn't let go with his feet. So he'd just make a 180° turn downwards with his head and hang there for a minute or two until gravity forced him to throw up... And he already knew how to fly by then, he just didn't have the courage to face the possible 30 cm drop from the lamp to my desk.

Good luck with your exams, you'll ace them!

    1. Haha that's so funny, a parakeet that is scared of flying! Thank you so much :) xx
