Within two hours of entering Scotland yesterday evening I had already ticked two things off my Scottish bucket list:seeing a highland cow and hearing (and struggling to understand) a really thick Scottish accent.

We have travelled up to Edinburgh for the weekend for my housemate and best friend Kelly's 21st birthday. There are 9 of us girls in total, and we are staying in an apartment on the top floor of a lovely building - I thought I would show you a few photos...

Last night after arriving we had a tea of pizza and pasta, and caught up with everyone as we haven't seen each other for a while, while Kelly opened her presents.

We then decided to go to a couple of bars in Edinburgh to get a feel for the place. We ended up in Revolution and had a later than expected night out (that accumulated with me and Kelly being the last ones on the dance floor).

This morning we all visited Escape Edinburgh. The basic idea is to escape from a room within 60 minutes - I won't say too much more except think outside the box as I don't want to ruin it for anyone that wants to visit. We had a really fun time and ended up escaping with 11 minutes spare which was incredible!

Afterwards we wandered the streets of Edinburgh looking for things to do. The streets are beautiful, with lots of old buildings and streets, and there are plenty of shops and bars to visit.

The Fringe Festival is on for 3 weeks of August, which has loads of comedy and art shows, many free but some cost a little bit of money (max around £15). A lot of the shows are on the street or in bars and pubs, so we watched a couple in different bars. My favourite was the German Comedian who had a great sense of humour and really made us laugh.

Here is another of my Scottish bucket list items ticked off - a man in a kilt playing the bagpipes.

We went for lunch at a lovely old pub in the centre of Edinburgh - I had a veggie burger (as usual) and banoffee cheesecake which was amazing.

The views over Edinburgh are beautiful - suddenly behind a building a random hill will pop up in the horizon. The weather has been gorgeous today too which has made it all the better.

We all had a great day today, and I experienced a lot of things that I haven't done before. We were exhausted when we got back to the apartment so we all ended up collapsing and having an hour or so's nap. We're now all (kind of) refreshed and getting ready for another night out - photos to come tomorrow!
The things you are passionate about are not random, they are your calling.
