Benefit blogger event and Christmas gifts, Telford

Benefit Telford blogger event

Today I was invited to go along to the Benefit Cosmetics counter in the Telford Debenhams with some other bloggers for a blogger event. It was run by the lovely Benefit girls, Abi and Leigh Ann, and when I arrived I was surprised at how much they had set up for us - there were even party hats to wear!

The main focus of today's event was to introduce us to the new Benefit Christmas gift sets and to give us some make-up tips.

Abi started off by showing us all of the different Christmas sets that are currently on sale in Debenhams, and I think I'm going to have a few things to put on my Christmas list... The packaging is gorgeous!

This set is absolutely gorgeous and my second favourite - it contains both of their best-selling mascaras, plus the amazing POREfessional and some beautiful eyeshadows, all for £29.50.

Afterwards Abi demonstrated a couple of make-up looks on Gemma, the owner of Skinsincere skincare. Each time she started off with the Air Patrol eye primer and POREfessional face primer, to give the skin a smooth finish and give the rest of the make-up more staying power.

Abi firstly showed us a simple daytime look, using nude eyeshadows, and afterwards demonstrated a look that would be more for the evening, using purple eyeshadows, purple eyeliner and blue mascara.

Afterwards Abi asked us to pair up and try out the make-up looks on each other. I was paired with Nadine from Curves and Contour, and I created the evening look on her, whilst she tried out the daytime look on me. It was really fun trying out all of the products - I kind of fell in love with their coloured They're real! push-up eyeliners and some of the eyeshadows.

The other bloggers were: Kirsty from Just A Little Bit Ginger; Karen from Jinksy Beauty; Beth from BB-Beauty; and Nadine and Nikki from Curves and Contour.

We were also given doughnuts from Krispy Kreme to munch on whilst we were working so hard on our make-up - oh, I love Krispy Kremes so much. I had a really fun time with some lovely girls and was also impressed with our goody bag, that I wasn't expecting at all! All proceeds went to the #BoldIsBeautiful project, that supports charities that benefit women and girls including Refuge and Look Good Feel Better.

I'm really looking forward to trying out the eye cream as I've heard good things about it, and POREfessional is one of my favourite ever Benefit products, so I was really glad to find a sample in my goody bag.

Givenchy perfume samples*

These Popband hair bands are always useful as they prevent your hair from kinking when it's put up in a ponytail. I have tried a couple of products from the Skinsincere brand before so am also looking forward to trying out this lotion too!

I have never tried bareMinerals make-up before, but am really glad I've received the Blemish Remedy foundation as my skin is quite oily and spot-prone. I'm looking forward to seeing how this helps my skin!

Mollie's is a Shropshire-based old-fashioned sweet shop and they were kind enough to give us each a bag of their pick and mix. That's now the third bag of pick and mix I've picked up in the last few days; I will definitely be sharing these with family and friends!

Wild Olive Bath Bomb*

These bath tea bags are such a good idea - they contain bath salts to diffuse into the water when your bath is run.

And of course I couldn't go to a Benefit cosmetics event without purchasing something... I have the other two versions of this World Famous Neutrals set, but fell in love with the lilac and purple colours in this one when I tried it today. I will definitely be trying out different make-up looks in the near future! Benefit eyeshadows are really pigmented and stay on for a long time so I don't mind paying a little more for them; plus the packaging is so pretty.

Afterwards I met my best friend Roxy for lunch at Zizzi and a bit of a shopping spree, and then came home to a cooked meal by my dad and an evening of the rugby. Mum has just put on Michael Buble's Christmas Special - perhaps a bit early but I am extremely excited for Christmas now. Uh-oh.
Take it day by day and be grateful for every breath.
