The Clothes Show

So today was a very exciting day... I got to go to The Clothes Show, and was given a press pass for myself and my sister! (We thought it was very cool. See them on Instagram here).

The Clothes Show runs from 4th-8th December 2015 and is held at the NEC in Birmingham. It is considered to be the UK's premier fashion event and has been held in Birmingham since 1990. The Clothes Show is in association with ALCATEL ONETOUCH and has so many things to do over the weekend, including watching fashion shows, shopping, getting makeovers, and meeting celebrities - or a trip to the Lambrini cocktail bar if you're feeling a little dehydrated after an overwhelming amount of fashion.

We spent most of our time wandering around the hundreds of fashion and beauty stalls, many of which had offers on.

We also stopped off at the Olympus Pen Style Studio a couple of times, to listen to Joey Essex and Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter give some fashion advice.

There were so many lovely beauty stalls, but I fell in love with Spectrum, who sell the most beautiful make-up brushes fit for any mermaid ever. Just look at their clam case!

It was also lovely to find Peaches & Cream, who are based in Liverpool, at the show - I bought a few of their eyeshadows as they are really pigmented and sparkly, which will be perfect for New Year's Eve.

There were also lots of other well-known beauty brands with loads of offers, such as Models Own, Barry M, Rimmel, W7 Beauty and NYX. Many of them were giving out goody bags when you spent a certain amount. The fashion area also contained well-known brands such as Motel, Glamorous, Topshop and Little Mistress, as well as new and independent boutiques.

My sister and I spent a fair amount of time in the blogger's bar, which was a perk of having the press pass. There were light refreshments served in the form of drinks and Mr Kipling biscuits, which were delicious. It also meant we could rest our feet and our arms after carrying bags of shopping.

The main event is the ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fashion Theatre, where a huge catwalk and performance takes place - all included in the price of a Clothes Show ticket. Today it was hosted by Rick Edwards, who did a fabulous job of getting the crowd excited before the show begun, by getting a male model to give away an ALCATEL ONETOUCH tablet to someone in the crowd.

We were on the front row in front of the stage, which was great as we had a good view of the show, which lasted for just over 45 minutes.

There were a few outfits shown from River Island, Debenhams and New Look, before Ella Eyre took to the stage to perform one of her newest songs. She was amazing live and made sure that there was a really great atmosphere before the main show began.

The main event had dancers, models and singers on the stage, showcasing different themes of fashion. The themes I can remember were darkness, earth, red, underwater, rebels, future and pure.

Some of the outfits were slightly odd, but I guess that's just fashuuuun.

The dancers were amazing during the earth theme - there was a guy spinning in a metal hoop and people leaping all over the place.

My favourite theme was underwater - the set was so gorgeous.

I want this sequin dress!

Anyone for a fish net?...

And then to top it all off, a stormtrooper came on and danced the nae nae.

It was such a good show and the music was great, fitting in really well with all of the different themes - the producers should be very proud of themselves.

I had such a good day with my sister but it went far too quickly. Only two weeks until I break up now - roll on the Christmas holidays!
