Evil Eye Beer & Burrito Shack, 208 Smithdown Road, Liverpool, L15 3JT
Tonight my friend Hannah and I spontaneously decided to go out for a bite to eat, and we ended up at Evil Eye on Smithdown Road, as it is a walkable distance from where we both live. Evil Eye is a Mexican restaurant that specialises in burritos and beers, and I actually hadn't ever been there before, considering how close it is to me and how much I love Mexican food.
The whole menu looked delicious, and there were so many choices - they also cater really well for vegetarians. I decided to go for the halloumi burrito, which was amazing. It was really big and filled with halloumi, vegetables and rice. It was quite messy but I really enjoyed it - it's probably one of the best burritos I've ever tried in Liverpool! I also had some chips with cajun spices on the side, and shared a bowl of nachos with Hannah. The chips were really nice but the nachos weren't the best I'd ever had - they were really stuck to the bottom of the dish and weren't as cheesy as I would have liked.
Hannah had the mac and cheese bites to go with her burrito, and they were delicious - I would definitely order those if I went to Evil Eye again.
Evil Eye has a really cool vibe and plays some really good music. Afterwards we walked down the road to Kelly's pub and had a couple of drinks there whilst listening to the live music. I had a really lovely night; it just goes to show that you don't need to go into the centre of Liverpool to have a good night out!
One day it just clicks. You realise what's important and what isn't. You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. You realise how far you've come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that you would never recover. And you smile. You smile because you are truly proud of yourself and the person you've fought to become.
