Ladies' dinner

Last night I went to our medical students' Ladies Dinner, a dinner and dance for all female medics at our university.

We got there about half 7 and were so impressed with the secret garden party theme - paper flowers and fairy lights adorned every surface, and each table had a fairy name - mine was pink fairies.

We had little flower crowns to put on, and glitter to put on our faces to make us look more fairy-like.

The menu was Moroccan-themed: we had a spicy soup to start; stuffed aubergine or lamb with a curry sauce for the main; and a delicious chocolate torte for pudding.

After the meal we went onto the entertainment - the Northern Quarter barbershop quartet were my favourite act of the evening, especially their rendition of Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, which we all sang along to.

We then danced the night away whilst occasionally popping over to the candy bar, and the boys joined us later on for a boogie.

Today I got up at 6am (not my best idea) to travel down south to Somerset, where I am staying in a house for the weekend with a few other bloggers. I will reveal what we've been up to with some photos of the (amazing!) house tomorrow - but if you want a sneak peak then search #PLBSlumberParty on Twitter or Instagram!

PS apologies for the text being a bit out of line - blogger seems to be messing up today and I'm not technical enough to fix it.
Do your thing. Do it unapologetically. Don't be discouraged by criticism. You probably already know what they're going to say. Pay no mind to fear or failure. It's far more valuable than success. Take ownership, take chances, and have fun. And no matter what, don't ever stop doing your thing.
